It aims to identify the legal framework governing journalism and to define the limits of journalists' liability, while balancing freedom of expression with the rights of others. The study adopted the descriptive analytical method, relying on the Algerian Constitution of 2020 and the Organic Law on Information No. 12-05.The findings concluded that legal responsibility takes three main forms: civil liability (compensation for damage), criminal liability (penalties for offenses such as defamation, insult, and dissemination of false news), and disciplinary liability (related to professional ethics), with the legislator granting exemptions such as good faith.
