The present study investigated the presence of English in Algerian songs by focusing mainly on three songs by Nabila Dali and three others by Amazigh Kateb. The thesis has two main objectives. It aimed to investigate the different ideologies and external influences that motivated singers to choose English for their songs. In addition, it aimed to reveal the impact of English on the Egyptian language by focusing on the public musical sphere where it is heard.en_US
