The global use of the English language has created a notion of culture-free English teaching and learning in order to fix all of the problems that came with the wide cultural context that is related to English nowadays. This motivated the study that sheds light on how the shift of focus to the cultural side in the curriculum of Third-year license teachers and students of Mostaganem’s university affects their overall performance in class, and how much importance they give to that English culture involvement in the classroom. The purpose of this research is to see if the emphasis on teaching the cultural aspect of the English language is still the correct methodology to use nowadays. In order to conduct this research, two questionnaires were made, one for students and the other for teachers; both questionnaires provided a frequent possibility to explain more in order to gain more insight into what teachers and students believe. The findings reveal that both the teachers and students believe that culture is important, but the basic structure of the language is enough to communicate in most cases, and students acquire their cultural knowledge outside the classroom. The result of this study suggests that the emphasis on teaching the cultural aspect of the English language is not the correct methodology to use nowadays.en_US
