Contribution à l’inventaire de l’entomofaune associée aux vergers d’olivier dans la région de Mostaganem

Abstract

Olive cultivation plays a significant role in Algerian agriculture, particularly in the Mostaganem region, due to its economic importance and its adaptation to local climatic conditions. However, olive groves harbor a diverse insect fauna, composed of species that can have both beneficial and detrimental effects on the crop. This study aims to inventory the insect fauna associated with olive groves in the Mostaganem region in order to highlight the diversity of insects present. Field surveys and sampling yielded several species, primarily belonging to the orders Diptera, Coleoptera, and Hymenoptera, which were subsequently identified in the laboratory. The results show significant insect diversity, including beneficial insects, pollinators, and species likely to interact with the olive grove ecosystem. This diversity is influenced by environmental conditions, cultivation practices, and biological interactions within the grove
