The aim of the study is to monitor the antimicrobial activity of Rosmarinus officinalis L. organisms (Staphyloccoccus aureus, (rosemary) phenolic compounds against certain reference Salmonella typhi, Escherichia coli, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa) involved in the food poisoning. The rosemary object of the study was collected in Naama-Algeria. Extraction of the phenolic compound from the plant was carried out using a hydro-methanolic solution. The aqueous methanol extract obtained after extraction after evaporation of the solvent was diluted with distilled water at concentrations of 0, 20, 40, 60, 80 and 100, respectively. The antimicrobial efficacy of these solutions against the tested microorganisms was evaluated in three trials by the application of the direct contact method, the disk diffusion method, the MIC and the CMB. The results were subjected to a single-factor analysis of variance in randomization and à comparison of means. The hydro-methanolic extract of Rosmarinus officinalis has demonstrated a bactericidal antimicrobial effect againstgerms (Staphyloccoccus aureus, Salmonella typhi, Escherichia coli, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa). No growth of these germs was noticed with the plant extract concentrated at 60, 80, 100%. The pure extract showed better antimicrobial efficacy compared to gentamicin; with variable inhibition rates of 53 to 67.12%. |
