dc.description.abstract Ramadan represents the sacred month of the year when muslims are supposed to refrain from eating ; drinkin and having sex from sunrise to sunset. This month provides an excellent research model for studing changes in eating habits and their consequences on changes on weight status as well as fasting metabolism in people with type 2 diabetes. Twenty (20) diabetic women ; aged 54 to over 70 years ; on oral anti-diabetic with sulfamide were included in the study. Measurements and controls were carried out in the patients out 75 days before ramadan and the 15th day of ramadan and concerned (BMI ; glycemia ; HbA1c ; triglycerides ; cholesterol ; LDL-c ; HDL-c ; protein ; Creatinine and urea). The results underwent a single- factor block-factor variance analysis and a comparison of two-point means according to the Newman and Keuls test. Ramadan fasting appears to significantly improve glycemic control and plasma lipid (LDL ;HDL and cholesterol) balance in leadopausal diabetic women . In addition ; the experiment reveals that patients have no hypoglycemia and no renal function that prevent them from fasting. en_US
