dc.description.abstract This work consists of studying the fungal diseases of tomato and carrot, mainly caused by Alternaria sp. Major disease of this culture. The objective is the morphological characterization through the cultural aspects of various strains of Alternaria sp, with different tests: carbon source test, nitrogen source, and best culture medium, the influence of pH and temperature on growth of Alternaria sp. The results of morphological and cultural characteristics showed that the best source of carbon is glucose, the best source of nitrogen is both sodium nitrate and potassium nitrate, the best culture medium for Alternaria is Czapek medium, the pH between 6 and 8 is very optimal for the growth of Alternaria, and the best temperature for this is 25 ° C. The results of this study seem to us to be able to contribute to the knowledge of the morphological and pathogenic characteristics of Alternaria sp in order to recommend an effective control measure in the field. en_US
