dc.description.abstract |
Effective learningenvironment is a crucial factor that must be maintained to reach learning outcomes and the teacher plays important role in creating it using the appropriate academic features of behaviour and discourse.In this prospect, our foremost objective is to investigate the forms, causes and effects of teachers’ aggressive discourse that takes place in educaional settings.More particularly, in the university. Furthermore, the present research aims at exploring the broad influence of this negative attitude of teachers on the personal level as well as on theri learning achivements. A mixed methods research design has been chosen to collect both quantitative and qualitative data from the selected sample.The different data collection tools that have been chosen encompass a questionnaire and interviews. The results indicate that teachers’ aggressive verbal discourse impact negatively teaching-learning effectiveness for both students and teachers.
The study reveals the importance of the appropriate use of discourse by the teacher to maintain encouraging learning envioronment. |
