dc.description.abstract |
One of the most crucial problems that encountered children in any given society is bilingualism. Language can represent knowledge that is responsible for its effects on cognition.
This study aims to investigate the cognitive development among first year learners of Ben Slimane Hammou Middle School in Mostaganem. Therefore, the main the question that is raised in this research is, to what extent does bilingualism affect children cognitive development? To answer this question, we have some hypothesis that may help us that bilingual child may differ from monolinguals in their language proficiency, another the hypothesis is that perhaps bilingualism led to increasing a child's attention. Therefore, the requirement of our investigation urges us for quantitative analysis. Furthermore, this research- based on two questionnaires addressed to both teachers and learners of Ben Slimane Hammou Middle School in Mostaganem. Moreover, the data revealed that among the reasons leading to demonstrate the role of attention control that extends knowledge about the cognitive development of both bilingual and monolingual children. |
