dc.description.abstract The idea that interaction can and should take place in the classroom has become increasingly popular, especially in the second or foreign language classroom. Today, many researchers claim that through classroom interaction, knowledge can be built and skills can be developed. Roles and responsibilities of teachers have been changed towards facilitators of learning and teaching processes. In this context, learners are supposed to have the possibility of using the language naturally other than memorizing only the dialogues and the practices of models. The present work aims to show that interaction in the classroom can be the best pedagogical strategy to develop not only the oral skills of learners, but also to promote their ability to generate a new language. This study is based on two questionnaires administered to both LMD third year students and speaking teachers at the University of Mostaganem also during the 2019-2020 academic year for obtain information on the impact of classroom interaction on the development of oral skills of learners. Analysis of the questionnaire showed that both learners and teachers view classroom interaction as an important teaching strategy for improving speaking skills. en_US
