Résumé:
In an agrifood context characterized by recurring health crises, regulatory and commercial
requirements in terms of labeling and traceability have been considerably reinforced. Our
work consists of a field survey on the modality and conformity of foodstuffs presentation,
through careful observation of some food products labeling.
Overall, the consumer is adequately informed and in accordance with the statutory instrument.
The mandatory informations are clearly and precisely indicated on the labeling for most
foodstuffs. On the other hand, optional terms are also mentioned on the labeling. However, it
should be noted that some producers do not comply with the regulations and their products are
not presented in a compliant manner to consumers, some mandatory informations are not even
indicated on the label and the traceability tool does not appear.
Algeria have several statutory instrument relating to foodstuffs labeling and traceability.
However, much remains to be done in terms of controlling the conformity of the foodstuff
presentation term.
