dc.description.abstract |
In order to select the medicinal plants used in folk medicine to treat Covid-19, an online survey was carried out in different regions of northern Algeria. eighty people, 23% of whom have Covid-19, belonging to closed social media groups (Google Forms and Facebook), took part in this study. The questions focused on socio-economic data from the participants and their perceptions of the use of medicinal plants to prevent Covid-19. Data from this survey showed that a large part of the Algerian population uses medicinal plants to protect themselves from Covid-19. Participants used 22 species from 12 families to treat Covid-19. Herbal remedies combined with antiviral drugs at the start of treatment improve therapy against Covid-19. The combination of herbal medicine and conventional medicine could provide an alternative approach to treating Covid-19 in the future. |
