Garden cress (Lepidium sativum L.) has many benefits, both nutritional and health, because it is one of the important medicinal plants for the body, which has the ability to treat many diseases, which has led some studies recommend its integration into the diet.
Our work consists in evaluating the anti-inflammatory activity of the mucilage of the seeds of Lepidium Sativum L. The therapeutic effects of this plant have been studied by two methods: the protein denaturation inhibition test and the membrane stabilization method HRBC red blood cells. The results obtained show that the mucilage of L. sativum exerts a protein denaturation inhibitory power of 105%. In addition, the effect of the stability of red blood cell membranes observed is 68%. It is deduced from the results obtained that the mucilage of L. sativum has an anti-inflammatory activity comparable to that of Diclofenac which is a pharmaceutical substance classified as anti-inflammatory. |
