dc.description.abstract Our work aims to know the evaluation of the antibacterial and antioxidant effects of extract from the leaves of Moringa oleifera and Artemisia herba Alba. The results obtained from the phytochemical screening reveal the presence of a large number of metabolites in the two extracts. In addition, in the methanoic extract of Moringa oleifera, high levels of phenolic compounds were observed in the order of 0.39 ± 0.004 mg EAG lg M.S and the flavonoid content is in the order of 0.320 ± 0.008 mg EAG lg M.S. The methanoic extract of Moringa oleifera showed significant DPPH free radical scavenging activity with IC50 values of 1.5 mg/ml and 0.125 mg/ml respectively. Regarding the methanoic extract of Artemisia herba alba, the polyphenol content was around 381.443 ± 0.461 mg EAG lg DM as well as a flavonoid content of around 226 mg EC/g DM. The results of the antibacterial activity against five pathogenic strains tested: Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 33862, Klebsiella pneumoniae ATCC 13883, Escherichia coli ATCC 25922, Pseudomonas aeruginosa ATCC 27853 and a mushroom Candida albicans ATCC 10231, by diffusion method in wells on AWDT agar revealed positive antibacterial activities on all the strains tested on the part of the two extracts of the two plants, with diameters of the zones of inhibition comprised between 19 and 13 mm. This activity was amplified up to 44%, using the mixture of the two extracts at a rate of 50%/50%, which reveals a positive synergy between the two extracts. en_US
