dc.description.abstract Lactic acid bacteria have a long history in preserving food against spoilage microorganisms, are commonly used in food fermentations, can produce several metabolites with health benefits, and inhibit the growth of spoilage microorganisms in food preservatives. They can also be the key to reducing the use of chemicals. Among the metabolites of lactic acid bacteria are Bacteriocins, lactic acid, hydrogen peroxide, etc. These are antimicrobial bio-molecular effective against various pathological infections caused by pathogenic microorganisms such as bacteria, causing highly dangerous diseases such as urinary tract infections, the most common after respiratory tract infections, which constitute a real public health problem. 20 local lactic acid bacteria strains of dairy origin were used to test their antimicrobial activity against pathogenic germs responsible for urinary tract infections, namely Escherichia coli, Proteus mirabilis, Klebsiella pneumonia, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Enterococcus feacalis by direct contact. Antimicrobial activity was assessed using two methods: the well method and the disk method. The results showed good activity of our strains, in particular by the well method, towards uro-pathogens. This was observed by the appearance of zones of inhibition with different diameters ranging from 8 to 30 mm. We then completed the anti-bio-gram of 16 lactic strains to see the resistance and sensitivity of these bacteria against 5 antibiotics. en_US
