dc.description.abstract The work presented in this thesis is a contribution to the study of the effects caused by heavy metals (Cu, Zn) on the morphological and physiological parameters of the tomato Lycopersicon esculentumMill. To do this, the different plants used were subjected to different concentrations (100; 200; 300; 400; 500 ppm) of copper and zinc compared to the stressless control plants. The two heavy metals had a toxic effect which differed according to the metal and the applied dose. This effect is manifested by a reduction in the growth of the morphological and physiological parameters obtained from the dose of 100 ppm. While copper at 300 ppm exerts a beneficial effect only on morphological parameters. The 500 ppm dose applied by copper and zinc caused the best toxic effect on all the parameters studied. Our study shows that zinc is more toxic than copper. en_US
