dc.description.abstract Milk is a complete food rich in proteins, vitamins, carbohydrates, lipids, and mineral elements; especially Calcium. It occupies a strategic place in the daily diet of humans. But some people suffer from lactose intolerance which causes indigestion problems, sometimes forcing them to abandon dairy sources. This problem prompted us to carry out a survey based on a questionnaire at the Mostaganem University Hospital on the consumption of lactose-free dairy products and milk digestion problems as well as on consumer awareness, and physicochemical analyzes of the products. delactated products at the level of the Animal Production Sciences and Techniques laboratory controls them in order to guarantee food safety for consumers. The objectives of our study are to raise awareness among people with lactose intolerance and direct them towards lactose-intolerant products, identify individuals who have this intolerance and see the availability of lactose-intolerant dairy products on the Algerian market. According to the survey results it was noted that most of the people questioned were infants suffering from milk digestion problems. Various symptoms have been recorded such as diarrhea, abdominal pain, bloating as well as nausea and vomiting. The role of health professionals is important in raising awareness, parents and their children need to be properly supported to diagnose lactose intolerance as quickly as possible. en_US
