Abstract
Wastewater treatment plants are essential components of the sanitation and wastewater treatment system. This study aims to analyze and monitor the performance of the Mostaganem wastewater treatment plant located in Sabeltte. Wastewater treatment at the Mostaganem wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) involves several stages: pretreatment, including screening; grit removal; grease and oil removal; primary treatment; biological treatment; and clarification.
The treated water is monitored through physicochemical analyses, including pH, temperature, conductivity, COD, BOD5, suspended solids (SS), nitrates, nitrites, ammonium, phosphates, and settleable solids, to verify its compliance with discharge standards.
The Mostaganem WWTP plays a vital role in protecting the coastline and the environment by limiting the impacts of wastewater discharges on the ecosystem and public health.
