Abstract

This study evaluated the effect of Posidonia oceanica extract on the morphological parameters of two plant species, the tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.) and the zucchini (Cucurbita pepo L.). Physicochemical analyses revealed that this extract possesses interesting characteristics, notably high levels of polyphenols and flavonoids, as well as high moisture content, significant mineral content, a basic pH, and an electrical conductivity of 1.426 mS/cm, indicating moderate salinity. Experimental results showed that the extract has a highly significant effect on tomato germination, as well as on stem length and the number of leaves in both species studied. Furthermore, treatment with a 25% Posidonia oceanica extract yielded the highest yield in zucchini, reaching 12.771 kg.
