The origin of Atlas cedar decline remains unknown. Several hypotheses have been put forward to explain this phenomenon. Among these causes we have the soil. For this purpose, we have studied the main parameters of the soil (pH, grain size, C / N, organic matter and trace elements), in relation to the conditions of the environment (Depth, altitude and slope), to have a relation probable between these factors and the phenomenon in question. We have presented the different types of soil observed, as well as their location, an analysis of their physico-chemical characteristics and edaphic constraints to identify the phenomenon of decline. The results obtained show that the studied soils are characterized by : soil acidity, poor water retention, fairly poor in nutrients and low biological activity.en_US
