Abstract

Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis) is a widely used in cosmetics manufacturing plant, cosmetics and some food products. This study aims to evaluate the antioxidant activity of essential oils of rosemary harvested from 2 different areas, one of Mostaganem and Relizane. Essential oils extracted from Romarain method Clevenger. The rate of returns of essential oils of Romarain Mostaganem is 0.72% and the Relizane is 0.57%. And in order to enhance the antioxidant activity, DPPH reduction method has been used, it has shown that essential oils were less active than ascorbic acid. IC50 values that result were 71.15mg / ml for essential oils Mostaganem and 124.20mg / ml for oils Relizane and 0.089mg / ml ascorbic acid. From the results obtained, the extracts obtained have a reducing power compared with antioxidants.
