Abstract

One of the most importanteconomic policies of a country is monetary policy because of its important impact on economic activity as a whole and on certain economic variables, notably inflation, economic growth and employment, which we have chosen as a topic of study because it is also important for the economy and society, as well as unemployment, which is one of the biggest problems facing most countries of the world regardless of their level of progress and systems. The purpose of this study is to identify the impact of the monetary policy on the labour market by studying the situation of Algeria during the period from 2009 to 2020. In order to achieve the objective of the study, we presented the different concepts of monetary policy, its objectives and its tools, as well as the reality of the monetary policy conducted in Algeria and the tools used to achieve its objectives, We also presented the concepts of the labour market as well as the nature and characteristics of the labour market in Algeria, We also examined the analysis of the relationship between monetary policy and its impact on employment and unemployment in Algeria by examining the effectiveness of monetary policy instruments (interest rates, discount rates, compulsory reserves) in increasing employment and reducing unemployment, as well as addressing the various employment programs targeted by the Algerian government to امللخص 11 increase jobs, as well as the impact of the growth of the money supply on unemployment according to the self-gradation models distributed in the periods of delay. Finally, the study concluded that, during the period considered, Algerian monetary policy was not sufficiently effective on the labour market, indeed, it did not play an important role in the development of employment and the reduction of unemployment, because of the deflationary tendencies of the government and its emphasis on price stabilization
