Cancer research, a major public health issue, faces a rapidincrease in cases, having more thandoubled in recentyears. This multifactorial and multiphasicdisease poses complex challenges due to the heterogeneity of tumorcharacteristics, evenwithin the same type of cancer. Hopes are turningtowardspredictivebiomarkers, which help personalizetherapeuticstrategiesbased on the specificcharacteristics of patients and theirtumors. These markers, whetherspecific to certain cancers or common to various types, are crucial for diagnosis, therapeutic monitoring, and earlydetection of recurrences. The measurement of tumor markers improvesaccess to care and the quality of life of patients. In thisstudy, weconductedassays of varioustumor markers (CA15-3, CA19-9, ACE, PSA, AFP, CA125) using the immuno-enzymaticmethod by ELFA (Enzyme-Linked Fluorescent Assay). The resultsrevealed the utility of these markers for each type of cancer. Wefoundthat for the same type of cancer, cliniciansrely on one or more markers withvaryingspecificities and sensitivities. For breast cancer, CA15-3 is the mostprescribed due to itsspecificity and performance in monitoring treatment of metastases and recurrences. For digestive cancers, CA19-9, ACE, and AFP are used for therapeutic monitoring, while PSA isused for bothdiagnosis and monitoring of prostate cancer treatments.en_US
