تدرس اللّسانيات النفسية اكتساب اللّغة خاصة عند الأطفال، فهي إحدى فروع اللّسانيات التي تهتم بدراسة اللّغة من الجانب النفسي للمتكلم والمستمع، فإنّ قامت الجهات المعنية بوضع البرامج التربوية يصبح علم النفس وسيلة وقائية من أمراض واضطرابات الكلام، فاللّسانيات النفسية تدافع عن أهمية اللّغة وتعليمها محاولة في تخفيض نسب التخلف الذهني والتأخر النطقي خاصة في العملية التعليمية التعلمية، فهي تطابق مبادئ علم النفس وقوانينه على ميدان التربية والتعليم لحل المشكلات والصعوبات كضعف التلاميذ في تعلم اللغات أو في تدريس القراءة للمبتدئين Teaching mental linguistics to acquire language especially among children, it is one of the branches of linguistics that is concerned with Studying language from the psychological aspect of the speaker and the listener.
