Abstract

Lobularia maritima is a Brassicaceae, which colonizes sands, rock, waves, embankments, land edge. It is located in the Mediterranean and littoral Algerian coast especially in the region of Mostaganem. The proposed work allows with biometric tests of the length, width of the aerial part of the plant and microscopic observations of the pollen grains to make measurements and comparisons between them. Phytochemical tests were applied to estimate the yield of polyphenols and to report the presence of flavonoids, tannins, terpenoids, amines, steroids, alkaloids, saponosides, free quinones, anthraquinones, reducing compounds, coumarins, and starch. The results obtained show that the species Lobularia maritima of the second station is more variable in leaf length and flower size than the sample of the first station and the third station. We obtained a yield of 1,635 gr polyphenols in the second station and 2,006 gr for the third station. For the results of phytochemical tests, we observed the presence of flavonoids, terpenoid, tannins and amines in the aqueous extract of Lobularia maritima, and the absence of saponosides, steroids, alkaloids, free quinones, anthraquinones, starch, reducing compounds and coumarins in the aqueous extract of the plant.
