The development and characterization of a biodegradable bioplastic based on corn starch reinforced with an organoclay is research which aims to develop environmentally friendly materials, which can replace conventional plastics derived from petroleum. Starch and corn are renewable resources, which can be broken down by natural enzymes. Organo clay is a mineral filler that improves the mechanical, thermal and barrier properties of bio plastic. The manufacturing process consists of mixing corn starch or potato starch or rice starch, glycerol (as a plasticizer) and organoclay, then forming a film by extrusion or casting. The bio plastic obtained is then characterized by different techniques, such as conservation, biodegradability, thermal analysis, thickness, opacity, humidity, solubility in water. The results show that bio plastic based on starch and corn reinforced with organoclay presents performances comparable or superior to those of conventional plastics, while being more ecological, with a preference for bioplastics based on corn starch. corn versus corn starch plastic reinforced with organoclay in conservation trials.en_US
