Évaluation de l'activité antifongique de l'huile essentielle d'Eucalyptus globulus sur : Rhizopus stolonifer de fraisier in-vitro et in-vivo

Abstract

This study focuses on evaluating the antifungal activity of the essential oil of Eucalyptus globulus against the strawberry fungus Rhizopus stolonifer in vitro and in vivo. The aim of this study is to promote these natural substances and identify alternatives based on the use of natural products to combat fungi. The antifungal activity of Eucalyptus globulus essential oil against the fungus Rhizopus stolonifer was evaluated, and its potential use as a natural biofungicide was investigated. The study was conducted using laboratory tests, in which different concentrations of the essential oil were applied using the disk diffusion technique on solid media, and the efficacy of the treatment was evaluated by measuring fungal growth inhibition and using the direct contact technique. Through this modest study, the results demonstrated a significant inhibitory effect of Eucalyptus globulus essential oil against the fungus Rhizopus stolonifer, with the intensity of the effect varying depending on the concentration tested; higher concentrations showed better antifungal performance. This study confirms the potential of Eucalyptus globulus essential oil as an environmentally friendly alternative to conventional chemical treatments for controlling soft rot in strawberries. However, further studies under realistic cultivation and storage conditions are needed to confirm the efficacy observed in the laboratory and to optimize application methods (concentrations, formulation, frequency, phytotoxicity assessment, and sensory impact).
