| dc.description.abstract | This work has been done on the largemouth bass (Micropterus salmoides), a freshwater fish very popular for its quality of flesh and for sport fishing. The objective of this work is to find the best conditions for an efficient controlled reproduction of this species. In our work we used broodstock caught from the Bouhnifia dam, where we found a regression of the stock of this fish, and the fishery was dominated by female spawners, because the largemouth bass were in spawning period, in this period the males take care of nest preparation and spawning care. Oocyte observation has shown the dominance of oocyte stage I and II comparing with the other stages, which is a sign of blockage to spawners caused by environmental factors such as dissolved oxygen levels in water and photoperiod. . As well as the presence of different oocyte stages in the same ovary explains the split character of the spawning of this species. The high number of spawning occurred in basins exposed to natural photoperiod, and in well-oxygenated waters. And the use of HCG and pituitary carp in spawning induction has yielded encouraging results | en_US |
