The objective of the present study consists to isolate and identify lactic acid strains from the gastrointestinal tract of the garden snail, Helix aspersa Müller. After isolation, the strains underwent characterization and identification using physiological and biochemical methods. A total of ten isolated strains were assessed for their inhibitory properties against five pathogenic microorganisms. The obtained results revealed that the lactic acid strains isolated from Helix aspersa Müller gastrointestinal tract, exhibited significant inhibitory activity. These strains demonstrated the ability to inhibit the growth of Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Bacillus cereus, Staphylococcus aureus, and Candida albicans.en_US
