The present study aimed to highlight the biological activities of Lepidium sativum seeds extract. The analysis of this extract revealed the presence of some chemical groups (total polyphenols and flavonoids) capable of expressing the desired activities and their contents were determined by spectrophotometric methods. The extract was been also screened for its possible antimicrobial activity in vitro, against eight pathogenic bacteria strains and two yeast species, using the diffusion method from a solid disc. The extract reacted positively on the microbial strains tested. Then, the MICs were determined. In vitro antioxidant activity was been studied with two different methods: free radical reduction technique DPPH and iron reduction test (FRAP). The results obtained showed that the extract could act as a scavenger of radicals. The investigation of the anti-inflammatory activity in vitro has shown that the extract has a strong ability to inhibit 70.5% of protein denaturation. As it proved significantly its in vivo efficacy in reducing 80.26% of carrageenin-induced plantar edema in mice. In addition, the extract significantly demonstrated its analgesic activity by reducing acetic acid-induced contortions by 40% in mice. Similarly, administration of the extract exerted a 72.94% inhibition of acetic acid-induced vascular permeability in mice.en_US
