Les produits probiotiques disponibles en pharmacie à l’usage des Algériens.

Abstract

Probiotics are microorganisms which, when ingested in sufficient quantities, provide health benefits. Devoid of pathogenicity, they arouse growing interest on the part of patients, who are increasingly attracted to natural treatments, but also on the part of manufacturers who market wide ranges of products. Algerians have recently learned about probiotics by looking for organic products with a safe health effect. Probiotic-based products are a new marketing avenue that remains to be explored in Algeria. This brief summarizes all these probiotic-based parapharmaceuticals that an Algerian can obtain from pharmacy counters or via the Internet. In this work, we expose the technical data sheets and we examine the descriptive content by comparing it with the scientific literature, but we also report the opinion of international organizations regarding the use of certain presumed probiotic strains.
