Synthèse des travaux antérieurs sur l’activité bio-insecticide de différentes espèces végétales à l’égard de Tuta absoluta dans la région de Mostaganem

Abstract

The tomato occupies a distinguished position in the agricultural sector in Algeria. Since 2008, the tomato leafminer Tuta absoluta (Lepidoptera: Gelechiidae) is considered a threat to the production of the tomato crop. This study aims at the possibility of a complete control of the spread of T. absoluta. Bio-insecticides to control these insects have been used as an alternative to conventional treatments which have not proven to be effective. However, we regret our inability to complete this work due to the difficulties we encountered, including COVID 19, and we have therefore made some modifications to our study. A comparison of the results of some recent work has been carried out to verify the efficacy of plant extracts (Mentha spicata, Cucurbita pepo, Urtica dioica, Pelargonium zonale) to control T. absoluta. To achieve this objective, the above-mentioned plant extracts were extracted to evaluate their efficacy against T. absoluta. By comparing the results obtained, it was found that the hydroalcoholic extract of P. zonale was the most effective compared to the other extracts.
