dc.description.abstractThe aim of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of irrigation and spraying using a fermented organic treatment based on nettle (Urtica dioica) and sea lettuce (Ulva lactuca) leaf extracts on the growth and development of pepper (Capsicum annuum) and tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) plants, as well as the bioinsecticidal effect of nettle slurry against tomato and pepper pests. The experiment was conducted on three blocks, each receiving a different treatment: T1 (U. dioica extract), T2 (U. lactuca extract), and T3 (irrigation water as the control). The parameters assessed included the number of stems, growth rate, fruit weight, and yield per block. The study was carried out from January 5 to June 12, 2025. The results showed a significant improvement in growth indicators following the application of organic extracts, with particularly notable effectiveness observed for nettle. In addition, these extracts exhibited a protective effect against certain insects, reducing their harmful impact. Thus, fermented extracts of nettle and sea lettuce proved to be effective growth stimulants, contributing simultaneously to the production, protection, and development of pepper and tomato plants. These results highlight the promising potential of these biostimulants and bioinsecticides in the context of sustainable agriculture, aiming to improve both crop productivity and quality.en_US
