Gallbladder lithiasis is a frequent pathology that every Gastrointestinal Surgeon is regularly confronted with. It is defined by the presence of one or more stones in the gallbladder and / or in the bile duct intra or extra hepatic. It is also a major public health problem in all countries, due to its frequency, lethality and socio-economic repercussions. The objective of this study is to follow the effect of some biological parameters in vesicular lithiasis patients according to gender with a view to better surgical management. Twenty men and 20 women with VLL aged between 20 and 70 years were included in this study. The preoperative workup included the following blood tests (white blood cells, hemoglobin, platelets, blood glucose, cholesterol, urea, creatinine, total bilirubin and GERD, and TGP). The results showed slight non-significant variations (p>0.05) in the biochemical parameters measured in all patients involved in the study; with relatively higher values (p>0.05) in women than in lithiasis men. However, in spite of these differences, through the preoperative biological assessment that meets the accepted standards, the surgeon is able to proceed without fear to the surgical management of the patients. The study also revealed that the more frequent cholestirolithiasis in women is favoured by several risk factors including obesity, metabolic syndrome and physical stasis.en_US
