Étude synthétique des plantes médicinales utilisées pour le traitement de l’hypertension artérielle en Algérie

Abstract

Our research aims to inventory the different plant species used in the treatment of arterial hypertension in Algeria; we performed a theoretical synthetic study on hypotensive plants in four several area (east, west, center and south); each area has its own specific plants used to reduce hypertension. Among these plants we can cite: Garlic (Allium sativum), Olive tree (Olea europaea), Hawthorn, Zingiber officinale, Artemisia herba, which are commonly used in all regions of the national territory at infusion and decoction form of the aerial parts (leaves, fruits, flowers); these natural herbal remedies are still important materials for the prevention of cardiovascular diseases, in particular hypertension.
