The objective of our work is realizing a prospective study on nephropathy’s complications on diabetic patients, and to assess the biological and physiological parameters (to assess their effectiveness for early diagnosis of renal disease and if they vary according to the degree of this complication). Within a part of the epidemiological investigation, 53 diabetics hospitalized patients, aged between 17 and 76 years were recruited, they were classified into groups according to age, sex, type of diabetes and degree of renal complication. The second phase of our study is to make a biological assessment containing the following blood parameters: glucose, creatinine, uric acid, urea, albumin, cholesterol and triglycerides. Through our results, it appeared that creatinine is an effective biochemical parameter for estimating the function and the degree of renal complication. Unbalanced blood glucose in our patients is a real risk for the development of diabetes to chronic renal failure and end stage. Hypertension is poorly controlled, by the high percentage of hypertensive patients in our sample compared into other studies; it is found in 86% of patients recruited and even affects young subjects. In our case the uremia and uric acid appear to be indicators of the severity of renal disease and may be biological markers of prognosis. The other parameters (cholesterol, albumin) except for triglycerides are fairly controlled by diet and treatment, because the levels of these parameters are within the standards.en_US
