Abstract

In order to manage irrigation water efficiently, it is essential to have a good understanding of water requirements, so that demand can be better met and integrated with supply in the Wilaya of Mostaganem. We opted for the use of CROPWAT 8.0 Windows software. Once the basic climate data (2010-2022) had been entered, we measured evaporation and then irrigation water requirements for tomato crops. Once the data has been entered into the CROPWAT 8.0 software, we can obtain irrigation schedules and tables that accurately present the water needs and reference evapotranspiration of the tomato crop based on information about the soil, climate, and plant. Afterwards, we conducted a comparison between the monthly results and the annual results obtained for the same plant.
