Marrubium vulgare is an herbal found among populations, recognized by its therapeutic interest, a phytochemical study was conducted to provide evidence of its effectiveness and to expand its use in the chemical and biological fields for chemical purposes in medicine, regarding to its antimicrobial and antioxidant power. The extraction of the plant was carried out with four solvents: methanol, petroleum ether, chloroform and ethyl acetate respectively by the shaking maceration method for 24 hours. Analyses were used to isolate one of the main secondary metabolites, flavonoids. The analysis revealed the presence of flavonoids and tanins in extract isolated from the leaves. Preliminary tests showed some secondary metabolites such as catechiques tannins, saponins, anthocyanins, terpenes and sterols and flavonoids . The antifongical activity tests have shown the antibacterial power of tanins and flavonoids, the bactericidal effect varies with the nature of the strain and the substance tested.en_US
