Effet insecticide de l'huile essentielle de l’Artemisia herba alba vis-à-vis du puceron noir de la fève (Aphis fabae)

Abstract

The use of botanical insecticides as alternatives to chemical insecticides is a promising way for controlling pests with very little risk to human health and the environment. In order to control the black bean aphid (Aphis fabae), many studies aim to find alternative solutions based on the use of natural products extracted from medicinal plants. The present study aims to evaluate in vitro the insecticidal effect of the essential oil of Artemisia herbe-alba, against Aphis fabae (black bean aphid). Laboratory tests were conducted to determine the contact and repellent insecticidal effect of the essential oil as a function of time and at different concentrations. The results obtained showed that the essential oil of Artemisia herbe-alba has remarkable insecticidal potential against Aphis fabae. It induces 100% mortality after 180min for all doses tested. The LD50 of the contact test is 0.74 μL after 180 min. The repellency rate was high with an average not exceeding 80% after a 2h treatment period and this for all concentrations performed
