Contribution à l’étude comparative du bilan biologique chez la femme diabétique de type 2 avant et après la ménopause.

Abstract

Type 2 diabetes is a chronic metabolic disease characterized by high levels of glucose in the blood. Menopause manifests itself by stopping the menstrual cycle for about 12 months, this is due to the drop in sex hormone production. Indeed, non-insulin-dependent diabetes is now a public health problem. Its prevalence is increasing in parallel with ageing, sedentarisation and the development of obesity. To determine the relationship between type 2 diabetes and menopause, a comparative cross-sectional study was conducted in 86 patients with type 2 diabetes, 43 of whom are menopausal and 43 of whom are not. Different biological parameters such as LH, FSH, estradiol, IMC, blood glucose, cholesterol, HDL, LDL, triglycerides, urea, and creatinine were measured in the blood of patients and discussed after a statistical analysis of variance (ANOVA) study and comparison of means. The results obtained showed that there are indeed significant differences in the rate of FSH and LH after menopause in diabetic patients. Other insignificant variations were found for HbA1c, blood glucose and lipid balance and microAlbuminuria. The blood test results from the creatinine and urea study showed that the values obtained were almost similar in the two study populations. In addition, the BMI averages obtained in the two populations (before and after menopause) are similar (P > 0.05) and range from 27 to 27.55 Kg/m2.
