dc.description.abstractChronic inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) includes Crohn’s disease (CD) and ulcerative colitis (UC). Both are characterized by inflammation of the wall of part of the digestive tract, due to deregulation of the intestinal immune system. This uncontrolled inflammation is responsible for tissue damage and chronic disease. The objective of this modest work is to explore the therapeutic effect of bioactive octopus peptides on in vivo induced colic inflammation in Wistar rats. The inflammation was induced by acetic acid, in parallel, the rats underwent daily preventive and curative treatments were made by gavage of the extract of the octopus peptides at concentrations of 100 and 400 mg/ kg for 7 days. Sulfasalazine was used as a reference anti-inflammatory drug. The results show that preventive and curative treatments have been successful in coping with inflammation and optimizing haematological parameters with tissue improvement in the histological study.en_US
