L’Arganier à Mostaganem : enjeux et perspectives de préservation et de développement

Abstract

The argan tree is considered ono of the rare species, which is found in certain regions of the world, notably in the south of morocco and the southwest of Algeria. It has great ecological and economic importance, argan oil being among the most expensive oils. The argan tree adapts to the saharan and semi arid climate it is a hardy species withstands drought. Mostaganem is considered to be ono the northern wilayas which pioneered argan planting experiences in several regions of the Mostaganem. Our study will include 9 experimental stations spread over the four regions of Mostaganem. After monitoring it in the field, it was found that the experimental plantings gave good results in terms of success rate and harvested production. If it is well maintained in terms of watering and maintenance, it will give good results than it currently is.
