Artemia is a type of crustacean that lives in salty, brackish water. It is considered as a food for fish larvae being small in size and contains the essential elements that help to have good growth. Given its importance in the field of larval rearing, we have undertaken this study to find out the nutritional value of Artemia salina, collected at the Betioua salts in Oran, and to compare it with the commercial strain Artemia franciscana , Lake Utah (USA), in terms of hatching quality (hatching rate and efficiency). thanks to our experience we have found that the use of the népplii of Artémia salina for the larval rearing can be viable provided to go through a phase of treatment by decapsulation of the cysts to obtain good yields in aquaculture farmingen_US
