Abstract

Air freight represents an important pillar in the body of global trade, as it offers important advantages that contribute to enhancing trade exchange between countries and stimulating economic growth. In addition, the trust and reliability of air freight makes it a preferred option for transporting sensitive or high-value goods. Given the developments in technology and communications, air freight provides the opportunity for companies to expand their operations into new markets and deploy their products and services faster and more effectively. It can be said that air freight contributes significantly to linking the world of trade and chieving economic integration between countries, and thus plays a prominent role in advancing global economic development. Logistics services are considered an essential part of the global supply chain, as they play a vital role in organizing and managing the movement of goods and materials from the point of origin to the point of destination. Logistics services include a set of operations that include warehousing, packaging, distribution, inventory management, and transportation, in addition to shipping and customs clearance services. These services aim to improve supply chain efficiency and reduce costs, which contributes to achieving corporate goals regarding quality, service and customer satisfaction. After an analytical study of the importance of air freight in enhancing logistics services through a field study at the level of the air freight company at Ahmed Ben Bella International Airport in the state of Oran, which is the only leading company in the field in Algeria, we discussed in this study the following: 1) Using an information system that contributed to developing shipping operations and thus contributing to enhancing logistics services. 2) There is a clear impact of logistics management on the efficiency oftransportation, handling and storage processes. 3) Algeria is seeking to adopt a modern logistics system, albeit at a slow pace. 4) Through the field study of the air freight company, it became clear to us that the company relies heavily on the logistics system to achieve effectiveness in its shipping and transportation services through the position of these two services in its logistics plan.
