This thesis aims to evaluate the effectiveness of ceramic membranes made from local materials in the treatment of liquid effluents. The work is divided into four chapters. The first chapter discusses the characteristics of industrial effluents, their impact on the environment and human health, and existing treatment methods. The second chapter focuses on membrane technology, with particular emphasis on ceramic membranes: their operating principles, manufacturing process, physicochemical properties, and advantages over polymeric membranes. The third chapter presents the materials used, the experimental methods, the crossflow filtration system, and the analyses performed (pH, conductivity, TDS, COD, UV-visible spectrophotometry). The fourth chapter presents and discusses the experimental results obtained from the treatment of dyes (malachite green, methylene blue), heavy metals (lead nitrate, cadmium nitrate), and real wastewater from the Tayal textile factory. The tested membranes showed good retention capacity and a significant reduction in conductivity, TDS, and COD, confirming their effectiveness in effluent decontamination. This study demonstrates the potential of local ceramic membranes as a sustainable, economical, and efficient solution for treating industrial wastewater.
