The study was conducted to assess the effect of Fenugreek seeds (Trigonella foenum graecum L) on weight gain and to reduce mortality in broilers in a short period of time. 3 batch of 10 broilers were taken for this work (batch 1, batch 2 and control batch). Fenugreek seeds were administered as an aqueous extract at varying doses depending on the batch and week. 3g/L, 6g/L and 12g/L for batch 1 and 6g/L, 12g/L and 24g/L for batch 2. As for the control batch, only pure water was administrated for the duration of the experiment. The broilers were weighed every day until the 45th day in which the sacrifice was made. The results of the weight gain of the broilers at the end of the experiment showed a very significant increase for batch 1 (p<0.01) and batch 2 compared to the control batch. The consumption index obtained in batch 2 has a better profitability (IC=2.03) than batch 1. As for the mortality rate which is quite high in batch 1 (20%) and zero in batch 2. As a result, the effect of Fenugreek on mortality can be inferred from the histological study of splenic tissue, which showed a high immunological stimulation in batch 1. However, the histology of the latter’s liver showed more significant sequelae than batch 2 and even more so, than in the control batch. The lipid balance showed a highly significant increase in total cholesterol and HDL levels in batches 1 and 2 compared to the control batch. This study clearly confirms the improvement of weight gain in broilers, allowing better use of nutrient inputs and reducing mortality rates in a very short period of time.en_US
