Contribution à l’étude de quelques paramètres de la reproduction (RGS/RHS) du rouget de roche (Mullus surmuletus, L. 1758) péché dans la baie de Mostaganem

Abstract

The study of the species Mullus surmuletus (Linné, 1758) or red mullet is the subject of this work of memory which is carried out on the Mostaganem coast alfringe. This study was in tended to partly compensate for the lack of data concerning the ecology, biology and exploitation of this fishery. However and following various difficulties encountered during our work due to the COVID -19 pandemic, were only able to carry out one sample that of February 2020, and in order to better validate our study, we saw each other oblige to regroup the results of some recent works, and to make a synthesis as far as possible. To carry out this work, it was first of all necessary to provide certain taxonomic and ecological details of the red mullet in order to avoid any confusion with other species, in particular the red mullet Mullus barbatus ( Linné, 1758) which is very close to him. Macroscopic examination of the gonads and monthly monitoring of the evolution of the gonado-somatic ratio (RGS), hepato-somatic ratio (RHS) reveal that the red mullet reproduction period is between April and June, the peakegg-laying is observed in April. The first sexual maturity of the red mullet is reached at a size close to 16 cm for all individuals without distinction of sex and for all subsequent work. The red mullet can be classified as a short-laying species such as the turbot Scophthalmus maximus (Linnaeus, 1758) (Jones 1970).
