Abstract

In recent years, interest in the concept of corporate governance has increased following the recurring financial crises that led to the bankruptcy of many companies due to the spread of corruption due to lack of disclosure and transparency. Therefore, corporate governance has become an anti-corruption antidote. It is considered an effective tool that works to limit the use of administrative authority in other than the interests of shareholders and works to activate the performance of the boards of directors in those companies, strengthen internal control and follow up on the implementation of the organization’s strategies. This is through a commitment to applying the principle of disclosure and Transparency. All this confirms the existence of a closely related relationship between the application of the principles of governance and improving the performance of institutions, as they are two sides of the same coin that affect and are affected by each other.
