Type 1 diabetes is a major public health problem due to its world wide expansion and the severity of its acute metabolic complications which affect the duration and quality of life of the patient. In this analytical descriptive study, we are concerned to evaluate the frequency of hyperglycemia, hypoglycemia and ketoacidosis. According to the statistical analysis of this study which shows a significant relationship between age and glycaemia which can be explained by the duplication of GH secretion during puberty; GH is an essential hormone for achieving normal structural growth. In addition, it modulates the sensitivity of cells to insulin. Hyperglycemia and diabetic ketoacidosis affect the child's lifestyle. Ketoacidosis is the most common complication in hospitalized children with a percentage of 82.60℅ compared to hypoglycemia which was reported with a percentage of 17.39% in our population. Remission of diabetes has become possible by liver transplantation of insulin-secreting pancreatic islets.en_US
