Nowadays, milk and dairy products contamination with trace metals is a major concern because of their adverse effects on human health. The objective of this studywas to detect trace metals (Pb, Cd, Cu, and Zn) in some Algerian dairy products and to assess their health risks. A total of 10 samples (5 yogurts, 3 drinking yogurts, and 2 flavored milks) were selected. The results revealed that no toxic metals were detected in any of the products. The copper value was very high in one of the tested yogurts Y2 (1.49 mg/kg). The flavored milks contained good values of zinc and copper compared to therest ofthedairy products. The estimated daily intakes for zinc and copper were very low, which means that essential elements (Cu, Zn) obtained by consuming our dairy products are very low. Based on the calculated risk indices, none of the products represents a danger to the consumer; but since copper has a cumulative effect, regular consumption of Y2 mightbe a problem in the long term.en_US
